I just got back from Boston and the College Democrats National Convention this last weekend. I couldnt stay for all of the big main Convention this week, but the time I was there was absolutely incredible. From having a drink with like-minded students from Alaska to Arizona to Maine, to being 10 feet from Al Sharpton delivering a soul-rousing speech in the Kennedy School Forum, to getting random hi-fives from perfect strangers on the streets of Boston, its enough to lift the spirits of any Democrat.
The typical doom and gloom of being a Florida Democrat has lifted for me (espescially after meeting some Montana and Texas Democrats). I think our state is in play, there will not be a repeat of Florida 2000, and the White House is definitely no longer a lofty goal. I look forward to November with a renewed sense of hope and optimism, something I haven't had in a long, long time.
Edwards, with his moving "Hope is on the way," impressed me. Sharpton I thought had incredible, if not forceful, speech tonight. I espescially like Al's take on Ray Charles' rendition of 'America the Beautiful'. In any case, I'll have a review of my trip in some upcoming entries, because I am travel-weary...in a good way.

I have no clue what day of the week this is. I've slowly degenerated since the end of spring semester and I'm loving it. Alot of stuff's happened since I last posted, but I'm not gonna recount it all here. Its about 5:30am and I'd rather just put up something funny and less involving. Enjoy
GEORGE BUSH => HE BUGS GORE
DORMITORY => DIRTY ROOM
EVANGELIST => EVIL'S AGENT
PRESBYTERIAN => BEST IN PRAYER
DESPERATION => A ROPE ENDS IT
THE MORSE CODE => HERE COME DOTS
SLOT MACHINES => CASH LOST IN ME
ANIMOSITY => IS NO AMITY
MOTHER-IN-LAW => WOMAN HITLER (awesome!)
SNOOZE ALARMS => ALAS NO MORE Z'S
A DECIMAL POINT => I'M A DOT IN PLACE
THE EARTHQUAKES => THAT QUEER SHAKE
ELEVEN PLUS TWO => TWELVE PLUS ONE
PRINCESS DIANA => ENDS IN A CAR SPIN
And for the grand finale:
PRESIDENT CLINTON OF THE USA => TO COPULATE HE FINDS INTERNS
I like the guy, but that's pretty damn amusing. So, the last two anagrams are examples people use to say that your anagramed name can reveal your destiny. If thats the case lets take a look at mine,
NICHOLAS CAMPIZ => COACH LIMP NAZIS
Hmm, I really dont plan to coach old, impotent German war criminals for a living... so lets throw an H in there
NICHOLAS H. CAMPIZ => SCHIZO, ANAL CHIMP
Yeah, giving up for now

I just won $1,000 from the Geography Department in the form of the Dunkle Award (PoliSci majors eat your heart out). The Great Escape is now a reality. More details soon. It involves icebergs. Sweet.
Oh, on a side note, I thought this was funny:
Making love to the ripe old age of 77. Sounds like a plan.
I know I've been M.I.A. the last few weeks. This semester is ending in a really rough manner. I dont know how much more of this 'university' thing I can take anymore. Well, actually its not that bad. Just the whole going from upper-middle class to poverty-line shellshock that college delivers to you.
In any case, the one thing has helped keep my spirits up (in addition to my awesome friends - I really mean that) has been listening to this Irish-type band from Newfoundland called Great Big Sea. To produce such good, motivating music in such a desolate place is amazing to me. So I've never been one to post lyrics (I think this is my first time) but here's the song I'm feeling the most right now so close to finals. I espescially like the paragraph that I highlighted. Its really good stuff. Everybody should look into them.

So the Namibia thing is on hold. Basically I've been slotted back to Alternate #1 for the Southern Africa region. I originally was an alternate months ago before being promoted temporarily. Can the State Department take away this internship after giving it to me? You better fuckin' believe it. They are the goddamn U.S. State Department. I'm still alternate though, which is still something to be proud and quite excited about in its own right. [Hmmm, nothing under "Hitman" in the Yellow Pages. I guess I might have to bust a kneecap myself - Tonya Harding style.]
I'm gonna take it in stride though. After 3 weeks of travelling, I've pretty bankrupted my already sad bank account, and as of right now do not have the means to support myself for 3 months in a strange foriegn land. As much as I'd like to go to Namibia, this summer just doenst look to be the time. There's always next year. But on a good note, an open summer helps me out tremendously in planning my great escape to the edge of the world. And a great escape it will be. Its falling together quite nicely. When is it gonna be? I'm not sure, hopefully sometime soon. Where will I go? I'm pretty sure I know that, but I'll let you know when things are finalized.
After pretty much being on the road from the 5th of March, I'm back in Gainesville, after a late night, long-haul 13 hour drive from the University of Virginia. VICS was definitely very interesting, from wandering lost through campus to assassination attempts on the King to Saudi Sunrises in the garden to drunken Gus Burger runs. It was good times. Finally got to meet russiangroupie. That was pretty exciting as well. Sorry I was in spazz mode as well, since our delegation ... well our delegation was being thier normal selves. Its enough to send anybody to the loony bin.
After the best 3 weeks in recent memory, its back to normal life I guess. I got 4 weeks to salvage this semester. Should be pretty interesting.
I'm off to the University of Virginia tonight. There's no getting out of it. I dont know if I can miss any more school. I dont know if I have the money for this. I dont know what I'm getting myself into. All I know is that its gonna one helluva road trip.
Ps. Great Big Sea is a band from Newfoundland. Its the best drinking music around

Ottawa was awesome. CANIMUN was incredible. The people there were amazing. I had an unbelievable time. I had one of the best times of my life up there - no doubt about it.
The Ottawa leg of my trip was just one crazy and great experience after another. I never thought I would be hanging with a group Newfoundlanders or drinking with people from Saskatoon ever in my life. Didn't think I'd ever hit up every Irish pub in Ottawa, Canada in my life. The list goes on. And to top it off, to recieve a Délégué Exceptionnel award felt like a thank you from the Canadians for being there and having a good time.
But what I'm most thankful to take away is definitely a broader, stronger, and more interesting set of memories and network of friends to add to the new ones I've made in the craziest 13-day spring break I think I'll ever take.

Here I am winding down my day on the top floor of the TKE townhouse at the George Washington University. I'm 7 days in, and I just crossed the halfway point of my whirlwind trip up the East Coast. And I can honestly say that I havent had an experience like this in quite a few years. Its been fun and surreal, eye-opening but relaxing all at the same time. I'll have a day by day account once I finish with my trip, but honestly this last week can possibly qualify as life-changing.
The bulk of my week was spent at the National Model African Union conference in DC a stones throw from the White House, and the thing was the best and worst at the same time. Frustrating as figuring out Africa's problems were, I havent met a friendlier group of college students than there and havent been exposed to such stimulating debate. Things I'll never forget: - The Georgia Southern delegation adopting ours and taking us to dinner at a Sierra Leonean restaurant the first night. - Questioning the Sudanese Ambassador at the Sudanese Embassy for 2+ hours. He was in complete denial of his countries problems and was disturbingly sly and diplomatic. - Visiting Howard University during the peak school hour. I have never been to a historically black college, and was amazed by it all. - Being asked if I was Nepalese for the first time in my life. Then meeting not 1, not 2, but 3 Nepalese people there. - Ice skating in 75 degree weather at the Mall - Getting down at Africa Night - Having drinks and chilling out with Sabina and the Air Force Academy delegation. Then finishing off a bottle of rum. Then making a fool of myself.
I decided that I didnt want to return to Florida for a few days between Model AU and CaniMUN next week, so I am here crashing with the Tekes at GWU. They've been nothing but awesome and remind me alot of our chapter back home. GW is a nice school (with a Geography department that puts ours to shame) and its been fun to just relax on campus.
I've gotten to meet and know so many good, exciting people, been to and seen so many fun and crazy things, I really dont know how I'm gonna bring myself to return to Gainesville. For now I guess I shouldn't think about it.
I wasnt planning to unveil this new LiveJournal layout for a few more days, but I accidently overwrote my old Marlboro Country design, so I had no choice. But on a good note, Frank the LiveJournal mascot is officially back. And now I introduce you to two new partners in crime, John and Brian [see comments]. John is the one with a mouthful of corn already. In any case, for those of you guys reading this journal for a while, you might remember Frank from this a little while ago:

I stumbled upon this new picture taken a few moments before and decided why not bring Frank back. And yes, to all the UF TKE's reading this, that is your chapter advisor in his full college glory, along with two more legendary Tekes. There are some pros and cons with this new design, so I'd ask you all which design you liked better, but oh yeah, I overwrote the old one. So Frank it is. In any case I'm off to go watch some monster trucks. Hell yeah.
I am in the middle of mid-term hell. Dont worry, I'm holding it down - for now at least. But that is why no real entries have made its way to my journal in a little while. This one isnt a really a real entry either. Sorry to bring back the whole Boobgate thing, but I liked this Get Fuzzy:

Maybe its the European in me that agrees with the strip. No pun intended. Well actually... nevermind. Back to studying.
Interview by honeyandthemoon
1. Freshly pedicured feet in high-heeled strappy sandals or steak bikini? 2. What is your favourite memory of our friendship? 3. Who are you currently supporting for democratic nominee and why? 4. Footloose or Fancy free? 5. What is your idea of the perfect day?
1. You are the devil, Jenny. You have rooted out my two fetishes. While there's never a bad venue for a good steak, I'd have to say a woman looking good and capping it off with a damn nice pair of shoes. There's really nothing better than that. 2. I'd have to say the summer after we graduated. Hanging out all night in that tiny room with that crappy couch and laughing so hard we could barely breath about the stupidest, stupidest stuff. Espescially about misheard lyrics. Backweave... trunk releases... ah such good times. 3. I am still supporting Wesley Clark. I think he has credentials to handle this nation's security as well as the patience, tolerance, moderation, and respect to lead a country that is as strongly divided as it has ever been. However, if Kerry wins the nomination, I will be behind him 100% 4. Haha. I really have no clue what you're asking here. Both things pretty much mean the same thing (ask Merriam-Webster). But I'd have to say fancy free. To be able to do whatever I wanted without a worry about money, reputation, or responsibility would be my biggest dream 5. This is what I envision: On a mild spring day just as nature is coming alive, to be lounging with a close friend or two in a city park in some great city of the world - London, Rome, Montreal, Tokyo, Cape Town - surrounded by a lively, bustling, cosmopolitan mix of people from around the world. We'd wander to whatever sight, restaurant, museum, etc., we feel like or just lounge some more in the laziest day ever. Then we'd round out the night with some live music on the lawn in a park somewhere or perhaps a pint or two at an Irish pub with a live band. Then we'd go to bed whenever we felt like it, hopefully looking more of the same when we wake in the morning.
There you go, Jenny. I think I answered those as well I could have
RULES 1 - Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed. 2 - I will respond; I'll ask you five questions. 3 - You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers. 4 - You'll include this explanation. 5 - You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed
All my life I've always had a fascination with being a diplomat. And since I came to college I've had a strange, little desire to visit Africa before I get old, in particular southern Africa.
So I got this from FedEx just now:

The State Department is shipping me off to Namibia (on the other side of the world basically) for an internship this summer. I'm so incredibly stoked right now. And they're picking up the tab for airfare (a very expensive proposition), housing and insurance. I do not know how I made it, but I'll take whatever's given to me.
I'm so relieved too because from a nearly overlooked forwarded e-mail, to the chance encounter with an ambassador on campus, to photocopy setbacks and leaving my application behind at the airport (a long, long story), my application could have died a million times it seems.
Now I finally have something concrete to say when people ask "What on Earth can you do with a Geography degree?!?"
Cool shit like this.
Everybody's gonna come visit, right?
I just opened up my luggage for the first time since returning from McMUN in Montreal. The smell of cigarettes and alcohol concentrated in the clothing was overwhelming. Bad as that sounds, I think its a sign of a good trip. And oh it was. I'll have a rundown and pics later.
Hello from Canada. McGill provided us all with wireless internet. In any case, it's fucking freezing up here. No doubts about that. But its a lot less worse than I thought it was gonna be. I realized I havent seen snow in 5 years (damn, half a decade...) so it was a big thrill to see it again.
After a night of pretty racous (and pretty expensive) drinking at a downtown martini bar (didnt have one of thier ridiculous 80 types of martinis though...) I've been studying and sobering up before our first session tomorrow morning. Its gonna be painful tomorrow. But at the bar with us were alot of delegates from West Point, MIT, and the Coast Guard Academy (Kelly was certainly in attendace). You know when people from these schools are getting hammered and were still going strong when you left, its gonna be a tough day all around in session.
It should be interesting to see what tomorrow will bring. Other than the conference-sanctioned pub crawl. That should be a shitload of fun.
Well Resolutions 4 & 8 are out of the window. Its 4 a.m. and I leave for Montreal in about 2 hours and I'm still here playing around online. And I'm sitting around in all my new cold weather gear. I went to an outfitters in town and ended up spending a little more of my hard-earned scholarship money than anticipated:
a sweet Columbia Jacket = $150 ($90 off reg. price...) some pimp North Face Gloves = $50 a warm Quiksilver Hoodie = $38 even more pimp Reef flip-flops = $25 (Not for Montreal)
I've spent the last few days wandering around the house in the gear. I'm not really sure why, since its been shorts & flip-flop weather here lately. I guess I cant wait to use all the crazy shit up there in Canada. Actually I cant wait to use all the crazy shit so I can survive pub-crawling up there in Canada.
Exactly 3 weeks ago I was in Ft. Lauderdale and remember seeing an Air Canada jet land at the airport. That was one of the few reasons I came back this semester (other than having a lease in Gainesville, have a degree to finish, etc.) because in less than 7 hours I'll be on one myself. Sweet lovin'. Gotta run now, but I promise I'll have more coherence ( I havent slept all night) and some pics after I return. Adieu.

Holy shit, I never thought today would come. Fraternity rush had been going on since Sunday and it was hell. A good sorta hell though. We got good numbers and a good set of new brothers. We did really well considering we're a new chapter and had to do everything out of the Union. We even got a verbal commendation from IFC in the paper today (I'm in Tau Kappa Epsilon for those new to the journal). So its a keg at Ryan and Matt's tonight, Power Hour at Marc and Barrett's tomorrow, and beer and poker at Heretich's Sunday. Add the fact that Eric and Bill will be coming up tonight (just missing Greg...), and Andrea and maybe Ginger will be out as well... wow. Then I get to start all over again on Thursday when I go up north and freeze my gonads off pub-crawling in Montreal. I'll send my liver a thank you card later.
Ps. Mark your calendars for February 7th. That's the tenative date for Around the World 02-07-04. If you've never been to an around-the-world party... yeah, they're the shit.
When I should be reading for class, I stumbled upon HumanForSale.com. And in thier very scientific methodology:
You are worth exactly: $2,539,274.00
Damn. Auction me off and call me Sally. That'd be a great way to pay for law school.
i'm drunk. gonna be honnnest. one of the new tekes has th ehoook up at MVP. we had th ebackroom reserved just for us, with a keg, a bar, and a bartenderr all too oursleves. It was awesome. I'll settle that out with all hte other brothers though. For now, semsters going good. Life is going good, and i just got my financial aid disbrsment. Thank god. take care y'all.
Break is over, and as usual UF makes an effort to be the first school in the country to start the semester. So I just finished my first day of school, and Tuesdays are my worst days. It was a godforsaken 8:30 start time with GEO 4285, Advanced Hydrology. Dr. Waylen lectured for the full 2 hours today. The class has 4 people in it, with yours truly being the only undergrad. There was nobody to hide behind and sleep. It sucked. After that was INR 4431, Politics of the EU. That class will be a great way to relax after Hydro. I love Dr. Brown. She's the funniest teacher I've had in a while. My last class of the day is GEO 5157, Business Geography of the Real Estate Market. Yeah thats a grad level class. Its gonna suck huge donkey balls. But Dr. Thrall is one of the best in the field and this might be my last chance to take it. So how do I spend the first day of lecture? I end up going to TGIF's for lunch with Travis and Brant. A free lunch with a couple of friends I havent seen in a while? I cant pass that up. In any case 3 classes tomorrow. CPO 3204, African Politics, a 3 hour seminar class every Wednesday on the Politics of the Welfare State, POS 4931 [yummy], and Street Hockey. Yes, Street Hockey.
[Notice the change in music genre. I've rediscovered techno music. I need to get out of North Florida more]
New Years was awesome. My mom's small neighborhood closed down the street and threw a block party and barbeque. There was so much good food, a garage full of fireworks, and a ridiculous amount of champagne, a ratio of about one bottle per person. Needless to say, all of us, young and old, were all pretty sloppy drunk come midnight. I'm pretty sure I made my mom proud in my stupid New Years hat, a champagne bottle in one hand, and a fat Cuban cigar hanging out my mouth. And when midnight came, this city knows how to party, I havent seen so many good local fireworks since I left the Philippines.
I, the one college-aged representative from UF, was expected to party hardy, which I did. When you wake up on the living room floor using your Mom's laptop computer as a pillow, you know you've done well.
Speaking of doing well, I have compiled my New Year resolutions to help 2004 be a year of improvement and stoopid fun.
( 1 day down, 364 to go! )
At this hour it's New Years in Micronesia... God, what I'd give to be in Micronesia right now.
I'm not gonna beat around the bush, in most respects 2003 was a year to forget. With 2002 ending in pretty bad form, 2003 only brought about the absolute worst possible spring semester from hell, followed by a rough summer term, and ending with a fall term that had its fair share of stress, disappointment, and bad times.
But it really looks like the ship is righting, and lately the good has outpaced the bad. I've learned that pretty much forgetting those who are bringing you down and focusing on the things that make you smile and laugh out loud are the best ways to go. So I'm basically gonna go back to the list of good things from the past year that truly helped me through it.
- A week with Bryan and his family down in Key West. It was the most relaxing week of the year for me. Sun, sand, and a good boat ride through the Keys is all you need in life. - End of summer craziness at the Medus House. Random friends needing a place to stay for a week or two. Random parties lasting a night or two. - Madden while it lasted. - Model UN. Washington DC for four days. Nightmare on M Street on Halloween was unforgettably surreal. Hosting GatorMUN. Missing nukes and drunken sponsers. Post-conference parties and the fallout from. - Camping out for Florida v. Kentucky basketball. Stupid cops and flying 2-liters. 4 am Steak 'n' Shake. - Floating down the river at Ginnie Springs. Nothing beats a summer day in an inner tube with beer in hand surrounded by your best friends and all you're supposed to do is relax, look up, and watch the sky go by. - Game of around-the-world with John - Random late night conversations with Jenny about anything and everything. And when I say everything, I mean we havent left any stone unturned. - Random late night AIM sessions with others about sports, life, and women. - Hearing about the old TKE chapter from the guys, and the characters that once made it. I dont think I've ever laughed so hard. - Post 7:30 am accounting class breakfast at the Racquet Club with Brant. I like the way we would bitch about class, read the Alligator, then make a feeble attempt to start the crossword. - Zachary Mean Time and other really stupid geography related jokes.
Actually, I do have a lot to smile about for this past year. I realize that this list isnt all inclusive of everything and if I left anything out, just let me know. I'll be more than happy to go back and revisit those times with you. Have a happy and safe New Years everybody.

From the first night of my vacation, some original art from Eric:

Bill wanted to go ghetto.
In any case, I'm back from my weekend in Jacksonville, sort of a vacation from this vacation. I had to run up there to take care of some business and see people I wanted to see for the holidays. But I'm back down in Ft. Lauderdale for the New Year and I'm pretty damn excited about it. Andrea's in town now as well as Stacy in addition to Eric and Bryan, adding to the collection of my favorite people from North Florida transplanted to South Florida. While we dont exactly know what we are going to do for New Years, the difference between the liveliness of Jacksonville and Miami... well yeah, there's really no comparison. The first thing I did go do on returning here was to go see The Last Samurai with Bryan and his brother. The Last Emperor it wasnt. It was 3 hours worth of disappointment. I really could have been good, and it was definitely nice looking, but the plot was really ri-goddamn-diculous. Cruise was good, as well as all the Japanese actors, but they couldnt rescue the movie from the gigantic holes in the story.
Anyways I'm off to watch suprising Navy go up against the aerial assault of Texas Tech in the Houston Bowl. Take care, everybody
Following in footsteps of the LJ style guru russiangroupie, I've been wanting to change up my journal for quite a while now, and now I have. The original coding of the old version 3.0 was complicated to say the least and made it very hard to update, so I've finally found the time (and the extreme boredom to fuel me on) to wade through the HTML mess and fix it. I had alot of wasted space in the last layout so I worked to get rid of that. Plus, I felt like you guys had to do too much scrolling to read my babble, so I gave you a wider and more accomodating reading space. Simplicity was the main objective and I think I've achieved that.
And here is the final product for your reading pleasure . I know it looks a little like a Marlboro ad. Maybe its that I've been listening to too much country music and watching too much CMT but I liked the colors of the sunset and thought I could use a little more color compared to last time. It took me an hour or two to put together, as opposed to about 3 months for the design before so its less polished. The Memories link will be fixed by next week, and honestly, there was no good place to put my user icon so its where it is for now. I'm pretty proud of the outcome, and its nothing groudbreaking, but if anybody has any serious objections to the page, then just rock my world. Even if you dont, let me know what you think.
Over finals week, after I stumbled into the Infirmary demolished, I was diagnosed as an official news addict, a news junkie if you must. An LJ entry about that is coming later. Since I have no discipline, will, or backbone, this entry is a quick survey of the news, and on this run up to Christmas, watching the news was starting to hit unsettlingly close to home.
Landslides For starters, back in the Philippines, the landslides happening right before Christmas is pretty sad, espescially since I just spent all last semester learning how stuff like that can be prevented by responsible governance. Life sucks so much over there, though Christmas does rock.
Earthquakes Secondly, when I first saw the breaking news that there was a large quake, I definitely got goosebumps when I learned Paso Robles was hardest hit. Of the few hundred cities in California, it would have to be the small, sleepy, forgotten town where I lived for one year before moving to Germany. Halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Paso Robles and rest of San Luis Obispo County was a really nice, scenic and quiet place to live. I remember back in 3rd grade at Winifred Pifer Elementary, after we had gotten a small tremor one night, all the kids joked around that they wanted the real thing, that Central California never had any fun... I guess in retrospect we were all pretty stupid back then. I cant believe that the downtown clocktower is gone. While its true that most people in my 3rd grade class have either moved on or now in college, a lot of people would have been back for the holidays, and they have to deal with this so close to Christmas. I just hope everything came out alright for all those I got to know in Paso Robles.
Terror Lastly the heightened terror level doesnt help either. The most disconcerting thing is the fact that a high number of stories on CNN and other national shows about this "orange" level of terrorism are done from Miami of all cities. Though the threat is supposed to be credible but non-specific, does the news community know something we dont? While I havent changed my routine or anything, nor do I plan to, something like this still lingers in the back of your mind. I cant even imagine living in New York City, what they have to think about constantly. While I'm a Wesley Clark kinda guy, I'm gonna have to agree with Dean in that I really dont feel one bit safer with Saddam in chains and Osama still running around. While its definitely good for the people of Iraq and perhaps the very long term prospects of democracy in the Middle East, I think its almost a hollow victory in the war against terror aimed at America. I know I probably pissed a few people off with that statement, but argue with me if you want, but that's seriously how I feel.
On those cheery notes, my mom and I are gonna go do my patriotic duty and spend the meager amount of cash we have in our bank accounts and finally start Christmas shopping. If I dont post before Thursday, have a good Christmas everybody.
in my first trulyh drunkeln, drunkeln post, I have spent my first dday down here in ft lauderealdale. since my motheer wqwas up in jalcksonville for the dqay., i'm spending the night ofver at eric's/. I found a group of Quebecois to speed down I95 with, and made suprisinging friends with the children in the back of the miivans going south. it was really entertain\ing to seem the m go crasy when i would end up behind hte van again. they'd wave smile and jump up and down... tiriingly said... good luck to tthe two of them when they grow up..they made the middle 3.5 hours down i95 bearable
in anycase we went to go see the rather uninsporining (thaqts underinspiring) Florida gator baskentball team play west virginia here down in Miamimiamai ..arg! Miami. I cant believe it cost us $20 to watch that ayawaner of a game. YAWN!. And at halftme, they had a scrimmage between towowow.. 2(!] middle school teams, and htey played a michael jackson song throughout the entgire scrimmage! Michael Jackson! during a game of 12 yearf olds...I wasnt the only one to pick up onthe the irony....
ha. in any case the gators won and we spent the nesxt god knows how long trhying to find a liquor store open in Pembroke Pinnnes open past 11pm and thats sosld Mad dog (MD 20/20)_ . we counldnt so we found one that sold Olde English. ?yikkes i know, but yeah i just finished 1 liter of thqat shiet, and i'\m beyond hammered. Eric and i paired up against greg and bill in a team game in MAdden which involved a pretty heavey drinking game...erico and i won 49-13! needlessly to say they paid for thier overconfidence.
in any case, eric, grego and billl all went to the bqar across the street to check out the scene (and they promised me to bring a trick or two back, though ill pass for now...) so i'm here on his comp, typing away...
i'm on vacation and loving it"! hell yeah! goodnight
So I'm on my 4th all-nighter of this exam period... which started less than a week ago. I'm struggling through my final essay for Biogeography... which was due yesterday. Or was it two days ago. Tuesday. Whenever that was. I dont know. I've lost all track of time and I've lost my sanity somewhere between my bedroom and the 24-hour computer lab on campus.
I started on this essay at 7:30 yesterday morning (it was assigned at midterm). Still only got about 3 out of the 10 pages done. Fuckin' Internet, you're like crack. So much crap out there. And then throw in AIM. Add in my gross lack of discipline and you get a rate of a little over 1 page every 7 hours. At this rate I'll be done by New Years.
Speaking of AIM, I'll have to give props to Zach, Travis and Brant for being my comic relief this brutal finals period. Travis and Brant, you dickheads are going down the next time you step in my court. Brant provided this as a way to alleviate some of your misery by witnessing those of others. Kinda funny in a Looney Tunes sorta way at first.. though isnt that one cold-hearted bitch and a douche standing next to her for staring idly at the guy seemingly without an ounce of true concern. Oh he's moving. Yeah bitch. Unless he's seriously paralyzed or rendered unconscious he'll be moving...that doesnt mean he's okay.
I found this on albinoblacksheep. I'd like to see that on Letterman's Stupid Human Tricks. Why cant we be as creative as the Japanese.
Lastly, I had a PoliSci professor from the University of Wisconsin trying to convince me to go there for grad school. I already have considered it because UW-Madison has the country's best Geo Dept hands down. Its just a little cold. A tiny bit cold. Then she led me to this, and now I've been brainwashed into being a Wisconsin Badger. Or a Mushroom. Whatever school that is. Warning: Addictive/Annoying
That is all for now. Wow, I've written more here than I have in the last 8 hours. Fuckin' Internet.

For those wondering, LiveJournal invite codes are now history. No need to cheat, lie, or be a bitch when it comes to getting codes from me anymore. Just sign up for your own free goddamn account now.
I'm extremly sorry, guys, finals week is taking its toll. I cant wait to go home. And by home I mean Ft. Lauderdale on the 19th. Five more godforsaken days.
I woke up at 4:15pm today. Last night, I went to sleep at 1:45am. That's 14 hrs and 30 minutes. That's a new personal best. Just to put it in perspective: A jet could have taken off from Tokyo shortly after I went to bed and have arrived in New York well before I had woken up.
For those who care, I made the UFMUN delegation to McMUN in Montreal in January. I get to be South Africa in the Non-Aligned Movement. This is great because even before we got our country assignments, I told myself (because of my Southern Africa fetish), I'd like to be South Africa in the Non-Aligned Movement. Nothing beats a 4-day, poor country bitch session.
Classes are done with. I cant believe it. I'm relieved, but I still cant believe it. This semester has been my worst academically. Financially as well. Socially... that's a toss up, in fact I'd have to say in most respects its been my best. I've been able to move on. I'm still, however, pretty much the same lazy ass as from when I started college.
Speaking of which, because of my late start today, I better get to the million and one things I had to do. Like accepting this fluke bid to Phi Beta Kappa.... before they see the egg of a semester I laid this fall.

Its a nice big full moon today. It makes walking around campus at night better. Once again I'm rambling on this journal rather than writing the 3 essays due in the next 10 days. Since I had gone about 36+ hours on 1.5 hours sleep, I was made fun of today for "rambling," "random outbursts," and "slurring my words" I guess I better stop typing.
In any case, as I've mentioned before, I hate LJ quizzes, but I like this one. Last country quiz I was Switzerland. This time I move north to:
You're Sweden!
After years of trying to rule the world around you, you've finally put aside violence in favor of advocating peaceful resolution. There's still a little Viking in you, but mostly you like Nobel Prize winners and long nights by the fire. And safe cars. You always read the safety manual in airplanes, and you're just a little cold.
Take the Country Quiz at the Blue Pyramid
The sad part is I actually do read the safety manuals on airplanes. Volvos are nice also.
I was one question away from being Canada. I thought it described me well as well. ( I Heart Hockey )
Since I grew up in Germany, where the winter days are short, the hills are covered in snow, and Santa Claus is just a little different (Kris Kringle is a badass), the holidays here in Florida just dont feel the same.
But finals are here, downtown is all lit up, it's 33 degrees outside, I can see my breath, and the Christmas songs are making thier way to the radio. Some semblance of the holidays are here and I guess I'm happy for that.
Speaking of holiday cheer, I'm now off to get nice and toasty at the 3rd Annual British Airways Christmas Party in Jacksonville.
